It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This
Rachel and Nick are an aspiring directing duo who buy an abandoned house with the intention of shooting a horror film; they document the process with their cameras. Soon there are strange occurrences, most annoyingly an ever-increasing nightly crowd of people, apathetically staring at their house. Kempf and Toti (Rachel and Nick!) prove their great instincts at creating something quite atypical for the found-footage genre, taking their own documentary recordings from the past 20 years plus newly produced footage and weaving it all into a splendid tapestry of conspiracy. Crucial info! The duo have announced that this film will only be shown in cinemas which— dear SLASHies!—makes this year’s festival the best (and maybe also last!) chance to catch it. (mk)
