27.9.: Part of Night of the 1000 pumpkins

When Texas Chain Saw meets Monty Python—and Les Misérables—in this totally bonkers blood-and-guts musical from Estonia, virtually everything—and more—can happen. Newly in love, Maria and Tom are separated by the attack of Killer—whose name says it all. In order to find each other, they have to face not only the psychopath-with-a-heart but also all the other (im)possible characters that roam the area. What do we learn from this? Grannies are highly flammable, not all finger-food is enjoyable and life’s like a pipe: It has two ends. Sander Maran, what a wise and insane guy you are! (tt)

In attendance of Sander Maran (director) and Kaur Maran (producer) (27.9.)

Sander Maran
attended the Baltic Film and Media School, Tallinn. The Estonian director’s acclaimed short films include Curiosity Kills, Framed by a Kid: LOLLIPOP MASSACRE, and Rubik’s Cube Terror. After a full decade of languishing in the lonely limbo of post-production, his feature film debut, the horror-musical-comedy epic Chainsaws Were Singing, finally premiered at the HÕFF Haapsalu Horror & Fantasy Film Festival in 2024, where it won the Audience Award and the Best Estonian Genre Film Award.
