SLASH CAMPFIRE TALES 2024 THE SIX FINALISTS

SLASH CAMPFIRE TALES 2024, the genre competition for up-and-coming filmmakers, is entering the next phase.

After last year’s lively response, numerous great story ideas were submitted again this year by April 30, from which a German-speaking jury of experts selected six finalists.

💥 Hantje Perl – DAS ECHO DER BRÜCKE (mystery)
💥 Klara Rabl – KILL YOUR DARLINGS (horror)

The six finalists are now entering the hot phase: with the support of top-class mentors, they have until the beginning of September to develop their ideas into 30-page treatments, which will be evaluated once again by the German-speaking jury. For the grand finale, the projects must be presented in English to an international jury on Pitching Day (September 26) as part of SLASH (the) INDUSTRY during the 15th SLASH Film Festival (September 19 – 29, 2024).

The three winning projects selected by our two juries there will each have the opportunity to receive material development funding of at least €10,000 from the Austrian Film Institute (ÖFI).

Mentors:

Anna de Paolifilm producer / lecturer at the Film University (e.g. THE SAMURAI)
Dominik Hartldirector, screenwriter (e.g. TV drama series SCHOOL OF CHAMPIONS)
Peter Hengl & Lola Basarafilmmaker duo (e.g. FAMILY DINNER)

We would like to congratulate the finalists and wish them lots of fun working on their concepts! Many thanks to our jury, the mentors and especially to the many creative minds and genre lovers who sent us their great story ideas. A glorious future awaits the fantastic film from Austria.
