Her Private Hell

Nicolas Winding Refn | DK/US 2026 | 109 Min | DCP

Guest(s) present

A woman (Sophie Thatcher) arrives in a town that doesn’t exist. Soldier K. (Charles Melton) is searching for his daughter, ready to descend into hell to get her back. Somewhere in between, a serial killer terrorizes the neighborhood. Her Private Hell is Nicolas Winding Refn’s first feature in almost ten years. Along with all the familiar trademarks, he’s really cranking up the surrealism this time. And so we get dreamy atmospheres next to retrofuturist sci-fi interludes and the usual hyperaesthetics coupled with the sleaze of genre cinema. If Refn’s foray into episodic television was any indication, we should, nay, must, see this psychotrip on the big screen! (Amadeus Mader)

On 23/09 in attendance of: Nicolas Winding Refn (director)

Following the screening on September 23rd, there will be a one-hour masterclass with director Nicolas Winding Refn (moderated by Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala).
