SLASH (the) INDUSTRY: UNGEHEUER

Times are MONSTROUS. The perfect time to bring MONSTERS to the screen …

… all the more so because recent box-office hits by young filmmakers have proven how MONSTROUSLY successful you can be with your movies.

This year’s SLASH (the) INDUSTRY once again opens its peephole into the monstrous processes of filmmaking—from the snake-nut-cannery of the pitching phase all the way to the pied-piping of marketing, from the revenants of genre history to the necromancy of practical effects. As always, future filmmakers meet seasoned masters of the industry. The stars and creatives of our program come face to face and eye to eye with the SLASH audience for an unfiltered exchange of knowledge and experience.

After the program, open to all and chock-full of panel discussions, workshops, and get-togethers, a foolhardy group of participants will put their newfound wisdom to the test in a twenty-four-hour movie challenge. To top it all off, the results will be unleashed straight out of the laboratory on an unwitting audience—and one of them will be crowned Monster of the Year via applause-o-meter.
