FAQ

1. When will the program go online?

   The program will be published on our website on September 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.

2. When do tickets go on sale?

   Tickets for SLASH 2026 will be available starting September 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
   You can purchase them online on our website or at our festival cinemas:

   Filmcasino – Margaretenstraße 78
   Open one hour before the first film is shown.

   Metro Kinokulturhaus – Johannesgasse 4
   Open daily from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

3. Do I need to register to buy tickets online?

   Yes, before you can buy tickets online, you must create an account on our website. After making a purchase, you’ll find your tickets and the corresponding invoices there.

4. The movie I want to see is sold out online. Can I still get tickets?

   In general, it’s possible to snag remaining tickets directly at the theater.
   30 minutes before the movie starts, you’ll receive a waiting number at the box office. 15 minutes before the movie starts, the numbers will be called out and any remaining tickets will be sold.

   There’s no guarantee that remaining tickets will be available.

5. Can I return tickets?

   Ticket cancellations are not possible. However, you can give your tickets to other people, since they are not personalized.

6. For which screenings is the nonstop cinema subscription valid? How can I pick up my tickets?

   The nonstop subscription is valid for all films in the Retrospective, the Unearthed program, and all short film programs. Nonstop tickets are available only on the day of the screening at the respective box office. Reservations are not possible.
   All screenings for which the nonstop cinema pass is valid are marked accordingly in the program.

7. How do I get a receipt for my ticket purchase at the box office?

8. Can I get tickets with my Kulturpass?

   Kulturpass tickets are available at the respective theater box office on the day of the screening. There is a limit of five Kulturpass tickets per film, and they are available on a “first come, first served” basis.

9. Are there any discounts?

   No, there are no discounts.

10. What are the age restrictions?

    There is a strict 18+ age restriction for the entire Retrospective + THRILLER: A CRUEL PICTURE and the short film program FANTASTIC FLINGS II. All other screenings are open to viewers 16 and older, with the exception of “My First Slash,” a short film program for children and families.

11. Where can I buy festival merchandise?

    SLASH merchandise, such as T-shirts, caps, and posters, will be available for purchase from September 24 to October 4, 2026, at Satyr Filmwelt (Metro Kinokulturhaus) and at the box office at Filmcasino.

    Every summer, you can also secure merchandise for the upcoming festival through our crowdfunding campaign and support SLASH in the process.

12. Where can I pick up my crowdfunding goodies?

    Before the festival, you can pick them up by appointment (please email crowdfunding@slashfilmfestival.com) at the festival office (Diesterweggasse 8/1, 1140 Vienna) during the following times:
    Thu, Sept. 17, 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    Fri., Sept. 18, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. / 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

    During the festival, pick-up is available at the festival center (Margaretenstr. 71–73/2/1, 1050 Vienna) at the following times:

    Fri., Sept. 25: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Sat., Sept. 26: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Sun., Sept. 27: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Tue., Sept. 29: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Thu., Oct. 1: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Fri., Oct. 2: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

13. How do I get accreditation for the festival?

    The accreditation deadline for members of the press and industry representatives expired on September 1; late accreditations are no longer possible.

14. Are the venues accessible to people with disabilities?

    All of our festival theaters, with the exception of the Milieukino, are accessible to people with disabilities and have wheelchair-accessible seats. These can be reserved for screenings at tickets@slashfilmfestival.com.

    The festival center (Margaretenstr. 71–73/2/1, 1050 Vienna) is accessible only via stairs.

15. Can I reserve tickets?

    No, reservations are not possible. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis for all performances (with the exception of opening night).

16. Where is the festival center located?

    In 2026, the festival center will be located at Margaretenstraße 71–73/2/1, 1050 Vienna, and will be open during the following hours:
