A Tribute to Häxan (Kino-Konzert)

Benjamin Christensen’s silent classic Häxan (1922) is regarded as a milestone of film history. For its 100th anniversary, the ritual formation Vortex created a haunting new soundtrack that makes the film’s occult imagery newly palpable with drone, percussion, gongs, throat singing and dark soundscapes. Between post-industrial, dark ambient and ritual music, an intense audiovisual experience unfolds, interlacing historical imagery with contemporary sound art. The film concert is performed to a special 45-minute tribute version, created exclusively for the occasion.
