The Deadly Spawn

A monster from outer space snuggles up in the basement of a family home and eats anything that wanders into range of its snaggle-toothed jaws. Some other stuff happens around these scenes, but that’s not important. Nor is one-shit-wonder director Douglas McKeown particularly more interesting than anyone else involved in the production. Of note: illustrator superstar Tim Hildebrandt, who let the crew use his house for the shoot, and producer/horror-puppetmaster John Dods, who would later become famous for his special makeup effects. And yet, despite all the gore, The Deadly Spawn is one of the cuter offerings in our selection! (Olaf Möller)
