Are the deceased ever truly dead or is what’s buried simply waiting to claw its way back to the surface? It’s a recurring question throughout Fantastic Shorts I, a program in which the past has unfinished business with the present and all manner of skeletons come falling out of the closet. From creepy cram sessions and unusually uncomfortable funeral services to a nightmarish excursion into the woods and a return to the darkened hallways of one’s former high school, these revisitations put the lingering effects of trauma on harrowing display.
