Birdy Wei-Ting Hung

Birdy Wei-Ting Hung is a Student Academy Award® winner who has been featured in Filmmaker Magazine’s annual “25 New Faces of Independent Film.” She is a scholar-practitioner, a PhD student at the University of Leeds, the school of Media and Communication. Birdy has screened at Slamdance, Fantasia, BIFAN, Fantastic Fest, BIFF, SLASH, and more. Her current project reimagines Taiwanese exploitation cinema through feminist speculative historiography.
