Frankie Freako
27.9.: Part of Night of the 1000 pumpkins
Conor is a dull boy. His presentations at work are bland, and in bed his wife has to make do with holding his hand. But then he comes across a bizarre ad for Frankie Freako’s Fun-Time Phone on late-night TV: “Just call, and fasten your freak-belts for a wild night with the ultimate party animal!“ He calls and—bang!—three goblin-like freakos are soon trashing his place, all the while downing a drink called “Fart”. Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman, SLASH 2020) stages his bonkers escalation via puppet and practical effects and ends up with a highly entertaining mix of Meet the Feebles, Gremlins and 90s breakfast TV.
