The horror movie genre has always belonged to outsiders, people who, for whatever reason, have never identified with so-called “normal” society. Sam Suchmann und Mattie Zufelt have been friends since their childhood days, this friendship has now grown into a full blown “bro-mance”. Supported by crowd-funding, all kinds of friends, acquaintances and volunteers, the two buddies with Down syndrome now have the chance to turn their dream into reality and this reality goes by the name of “Spring Break Zombie Massacre”. Sam and Mattie play themselves, obese skateboarders, admired by beautiful girls, who once in a while use a perfect Ollie to put a halt to the activities of their school’s bullies’. Right after they were born they were almost snatched by Lucifer, who had identified them as the “bionic bros”, the only beings who could foil his plans for Armageddon. Now, many years later, Lucifer returns, together with an armada of zombies, demons and zombie-demons, aiming to spoil Sam and Mattie’s plans for a spring break. “Spring Break Zombie Massacre” is a versatile humor-quake: Enriched with wonderful analog creature effects and a flexible script, it makes heroes of those who society normally wouldn’t see fit to take the role. This is nothing less than the essence of genre-cinema.
